Are you a fan of bacon and cheese? I think the whole world loves bacon and cheese and the combination is one that cannot be beat!! I whipped up this Bacon Cheddar Pull Apart Bread and it is perfect to give for those holiday treats. I know most give sweets but how fun would it be to receive a fresh baked loaf of bread packed with bacon and cheese? I dont think it could get better!
You will need to plan just a little bit to allow the Rhodes Frozen Bread Dough to thaw. I set mine out on my counter and t was ready to work with in about two hours. I always cover my frozen dough with plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray. I thin this creates a perfect environment for the dough to thaw and get ready to be turned into this delicious Bacon Cheddar Pull Apart Loaf. You need to prepare 2 mini loaf pans with cooking spray and set aside. And preheat oven to 350 degrees. When the dough is thawed but still cold to the touch you will want to roll and stretch the dough into a 20″x16″-inch square on a lightly floured surface.
Spread dough with softened cream cheese, Sprinkle with the grated cheeses, bacon and sliced green onions, pressing lightly into the dough.
Cut into 16 small squares and make 4 stacks of 4 squares each.
Place 2 stacks on its side in each prepared loaf pan. Gently separate the dough layers so the dough fills the pan.
Sprinkle the cheese and bacon that falls out of the dough stacks! Yes it will happen! LOL. Bake the loaf until it’s browned and cooked through,30 minutes (tent with foil if it’s browning too quickly).
I loved the addition of the fresh sliced green onion it gives the bread a fresh taste. If your not a fan of green onions you can leave them off. I dont think it will affect the bread at all. The bacon and cheddar cheese are the star of this recipe!
