Italian Grilled Cheese with Marinara Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices Sour Dough Bread
  • 16 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slices dry salami
  • 12 slices pepperoni
  • 1 cube soft butter
  • 1 cup prepared marinara sauce

Method
 

  1. Build the sandwiches starting with a slice of bread first, place one slice of mozzarella cheese on top of bread, then layer 3 slices of salami and 3 slices of pepperoni and another slice of cheese, top with second slice of bread. Spread outer sides of bread with butter.
  2. In a hot saute pan place sandwich butter side down and grill until golden brown, flip sandwich over and grill until second side is golden brown. I like to turn the burner off and cover the sandwich with a lid and let the cheese melt even more.
  3. Repeat steps until all 4 sandwiches are cooked.
