I really like cooking with oats and Quaker® Oats are one I grew up eating! We all remember the round cardboard boxes, well they still have the round boxes but they are not the same! I miss the cardboard lid. Oh well I am sure I will get over it! But did you know that Quaker® Oats is having the Bring Your Best Bowl sweepstakes! You could win a lot of money! Just create a yummy recipe and submit it on this site. and hope you win! The contest starts January 2016 and ends March 12, 2016 so there is still plenty of time to get your recipe in!!
I learned a while ago the longer you cook oatmeal the creamier and more delicious it gets so what better way to extend the cooking time than to put this recipe in a slow cooker! So I started this delicious recipe in my slow cooker!
Salted Caramel Oatmeal with fresh Bananas
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Quaker® Old Fashioned Oatmeal
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 2 Tbs brown sugar
- 1 banana
- 4 Tbs chopped walnuts
- caramel sauce for drizzle
Instructions
- Place first 6 ingredients in slow cooker and stir until combined. Cover and cook on lowest setting for 8 hours. Serve in bowls and top with with sliced bananas, chopped walnuts and caramel drizzle. You can serve it with cold milk on it also.
I love that I can find all my ingredients at my local Walmart. I love bananas that is why they ended up on the top of my yummy Salted Caramel Oatmeal! Then I really got creative and put a few walnuts on top!!
So now its your turn to create and Bring Your Best Bowl what will you create???
