I stumbled across this dip at one of my favorite supermarkets. I had to figure out what was in this recipe and let me tell you it is only three ingredients! It starts with delicious Jarlsberg Cheese!
“Jarlsberg is characterized by its mild, nutty taste, distinctive holes, and versatility. It has a mild and buttery flavors, Jarlsberg’s flavor profile tends to pair best with sweet and tart ingredients as well as marbled charcuterie. Jarlsberg balances beautifully with sweet jams and tart fruits: think sour cherry preserves or balsamic glazed onion con-fit, as well as salamis and thinly sliced prosciutto. In addition, the beauty of Jarlsberg is its extraordinary meltability and slight firmness, creating heavenly mouth-feel when you bite into a grilled cheese sandwich or a slice of Jarlsberg pizza.”
I made this dip for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit! I love how easily the Jarlsberg cheese was to grate! This dip is so easy to make and as I mentioned its just three everyday ingredients. Good Mayonnaise, a bit of red onions and that amazing Jarlsberg cheese. I used one 8oz wedge of Jarlsberg cheese and it made a generous amount of this delicious dip. It is perfect on top of those good buttery crackers. It is perfect for any family gathering and how about at that tailgate party!

So making this, sounds like a cool idea on a hot day…don’t have to heat up the kitchen.. I hope I can find the Jarlsburg cheese. That will probably be a little pricey here, but what the heck!!! I’m in!! 🙂

I first tasted this in a grocery store in Rockford, Il, but it was warm/melted and served with firm, chewy baguette slices. Out of this world. I didn’t know it was also meant to be served cold! So always made it melted! Just tried it cold and also delicious!
