Well its been a fun week! I have been really trying to create fun and easy Halloween activities for you all! This one happens to be one of my favorites! This Halloween Sweets Charcuterie Board is absolutely one of the easiest Halloween activities you can do!

Normally this would be something I would do for a party or get together, but with things the way they are nowadays the party may have to be another time! That doesn’t mean you cant do this as a great activity with your kids or grand kids. Think about it, this can be a great learning activity for kids! The kiddos can count the different kinds of candy, they can use their fine motor skills to unwrap the candies and how about hand eye coordination in arranging the sweets on the board? There is more to this Halloween Sweets Charcuterie Board than meets the eye!

How to create Halloween Sweets Charcuterie Board with scary treats!

Gather your supplies!!!

Supplies

  • Assorted candies
  • Small containers
  • Large cutting board or platter
  • Serving Utensils

Some of my favorite Candies!

  • Twizzlers
  • M&Ms
  • Candy Corn
  • Candy Pumpkins
  • Jelly Slugs
  • Halloween Pez
  • Bloody Bites (also available at Dollar Tree)
  • Spooky Lips Lollipops (also available at Dollar Tree)
  • Assorted snack size candies, wrapped or unwrapped

First you will want to find a base for your spread, this can be a cutting board, a large platter or even a fun serving plate you find at a dollar or thrift store. This doesn’t have to be fancy. I think if it is beat up just a bit will add to the “scare factor”.

Gather a few small bowls and fill with the loose unwrapped candies in these bowls. You will want to place these small bowls on the board or plate/platter first. Move them around until they are where you like them. This will be the beginning of your candy placement.

Place the other candies around the small bowls on the plate/platter. The bowls and candies are not “cemented” on the plate so if you dont like the way it looks keep playing around with the placement of the sweets until it is the way you like it!

Once the placement of the candy is to your liking its time to add a little flare and the serving utensils! You can place small Halloween decorations in the spaces between the sweets to fill in the gaps. Once the platter looks the way you like it add small scoops, spoons and tongs along side the candies!

Keep in mind the real secret to this is to have fun. You can pick and choose the candies you like, if you want all chocolates look for different shapes and sizes, if you want all chewy sweets look for different colors and shapes. I like to have a good mix. Another thing to keep in mind is this can be adapted and changed for just about any holiday or event. I like the fact that there is no baking or cooking involved, you dont really need fancy jars or bowls and it comes together so easily!

  1. I think these Sweets Charcuterie Board are the way to go! So much easier than a candy buffet! I think I want to do a Christmas Treats Charcuterie Boards next!!

Have a fun and safe Halloween this year!!! I know I am going to!!
