I love making candy barks they are so fun and sooooo very easy to make!!  I also love a good salty sweet treat and this one fits the bill.  Oh and since its getting close to Halloween how about a salty sweet Monster Bark treat?  This one every one will love and the kids will get such a kick out of all the spooky eyes on the bark!!

Now you can use chocolate almond bark, but for some reason I love the white almond bark with the salty addition of the crushed pretzels and dry roasted peanuts!  And with this one I sprinkled a little Fleur DE Sel on top!!  It puts it over the edge!!!  I can’t stop eating it!!

Sooo easy to make too! Here is what you will need!!

All you need to do is melt, mix, melt and decorate!!! Then when the bark has set up break into pieces!!  Super easy!

saltysweetmonsterbarkcollageI also had these fun sprinkles so these went on the top too with the eyes!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 12 oz melted almond bark
  • 8 oz melted black candy melts
  • 1 c broken pretzel pieces
  • 1 c dry roasted peanuts
  • Various candy eyes
  • Various Halloween sprinkles
  • Fleur de sel optional

Method

  1. Melt almond bark in microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in between until melted. Pour onto parchment paper covered cookie sheet, carefully fold in pretzels and peanuts until all are coated. Spread out until it is an even layer. Place in refrigerator or freezer until hardened and set.
  2. Melt black candy melts in same manner as almond bark. Remove first layer from refrigerator and pour black candy on top and carefully spread in a thin layer. While candy is still melted place eyes and sprinkles on top. Place back in refrigerator until candy is set and hard. When candy is hard carefully break into chunks!! Enjoy!!
