I love Italian food and hope to think I am pretty good at cooking Italian food. I mean rally how hard is it to mess up pasta? This Creamy Tomato Penne Pasta with Chicken Sausage is easy to prepare and your family will love it! I promise!
I think I love pasta because it is so easy to make. I can get great results every time. Especially when I start with Barilla products. I love taking shortcuts anywhere I can. This recipe whips up in about 30 minuets. I love that Barilla starts with the highest quality ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes, aromatic herbs, and extra virgin olive oil. The Tomato & Basil sauce is simmered to develop a hearty and delectable sauce the whole family is sure to love. It is also is gluten free and contains no preservatives and uses non-GMO ingredients.
I also chose to use Barilla Penne Pasta for so many reasons. It is made with simple ingredients, low on the glycemic index, enriched with Iron and B vitamins and is also made with non-GMO Ingredients. I also love Penne because the large diameter and ridges of Penne make it ideal for holding onto those delicious sauces on the entire surface, inside and out! It also stands up to the chunkier meat or vegetable-based sauces. That important to me gotta have pasta that can hold all that yummy sauce. I chose to use a delicious chicken sausage to try and keep in line with the Mediterranean diet which Barilla wholeheartedly endorse.

Creamy Tomato Penne Pasta with Chicken Sausage
Ingredients
Method
- n a large pan heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic and saute until just tender and onion is translucent. Add in sliced chicken sausage and cook until sausage is heated through.
- Add marinara sauce, basil, oregano, red pepper, and tomatoes.
- Stir and simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes.
- While sauce is simmering, prepare pasta according to package directions.
- Stir in cream until well blended.
- Add in Parmesan and stir until blended.
- Add drained penne and toss to coat.
- Garnish with chopped Flat Leaf Parsley.
- Serve and enjoy.
