It has been a long hard summer for me. It was filled with amazing opportunities and some great adventures, it also brought some cold hard realizations to me. I hate talking about this, it is something I keep very guarded and protected from scrutiny and judgement. It is something that I can’t hide but I can keep it close to the vest and not share it very often. Weight loss is a sensitive subject to many, myself included. I am ready to share with you just a bit about my current weight loss journey. I even have a DIY Food Diary Dashboard for you.
Let me back up just a bit. I had the fantastic opportunity of taking a dream trip with my grandchildren to the Happiest Place on Earth. I had the time of my life and was treated like royalty. As wonderful as this trip was I was physically miserable. I never let on that I was so uncomfortable, it’s too embarrassing for me. I was uncomfortable because I am out of shape and overweight.
With this realization came the cold hard truth. I either needed to embrace the “fluffy grandma” persona and continue to be uncomfortable, or I needed to make some changes. I decided to make some changes. Small ones at first. I started going to the gym all I can do right now is walk on the treadmill but I am doing it. I can see the changes, I can feel the changes and it feels really good. But it’s not enough, now it’s time to step up my weight loss game plan. Time to make some changes to my diet. I have tried every diet under the sun and just about every fad diet pill you can get over the counter. I have been on a diet of some sort my whole life or so it feels that way. I decided not only did I need to change my eating, I needed to add a little help from alli® weight loss aid to my weight loss plan. I love that alli® weight loss aid is the only FDA approved over-the-counter weight loss aid available over the counter today. It works by blocking 25% of the fat you eat from being absorbed by your body. alli® weight loss aid isn’t an appetite suppressant so you’re still going to make good healthy food choices. alli® weight loss aid used along with a reduced-calorie and low fat diet can help you lose more weight than dieting alone.
I figured if alli® weight loss aid can help me lose more weight than alone I wanted to give it a try. I started changing my eating habits and adding alli® weight loss aid to my weight loss efforts and I think if I can stay focused and on track I will do ok! I was happy that I can find alli® weight loss aid at my local Walmart. You can download a coupon for $10 off, now that’s a nice savings!!
“To help me stay on track I made this Food Diary Planner insert to keep track of my eating! You just use a “Sharpie” marker to write down your food and simple first aid rubbing alcohol can wipe off the writing so you can reuse this over and over again!
I have an easy tutorial so you can make your own. First you’re going to want to download my free printable. Just click on the image to download!
Supplies:
- Food Diary printable
- scissors
- hole punch
- laminator*
- lamination sheet (pouch)
- corner punch
- double sided tape
Print out Food Diary printable on card stock and cut out using grey lines as guides. Tape both pieces back to back so the diary shows on both sides.
Place in laminating pouch and laminate.*
Cut out 1/4 inch on right side, top and bottom and 1/2 inch on left side, Punch holes in dashboard to fit your planner (I use a personal size planner with 6 holes). Round corners using corner punch or leave as is.
Snip the plastic in the middle holes so you can easily remove the insert and move to another day.
I placed the holes in mine so it would peek out the top of my planner so I could easily find it and write in my food!
I just love how this turned out. I think it will definitely help me with my weight loss journey!
Do you have a tip or trick that helps you with your weight loss??
*If you don’t have a laminator you can take this to your local office supply store and have it laminated.
Disclaimer: Consult your doctor before beginning any diet or exercise program.
*alli® (orlistat 60 mg capsules) is for weight loss in overweight adults, 18 years and older, when used along with a reduced-calorie and low-fat diet. Follow label directions. In studies, most people lost 5-10 pounds over 6 months.
