I have a confession to make. It’s a deep dark secret. Most crafters’ will be able to associate with this confession. I am a craft supply hoarder. Yes its true. I have so many craft supplies that I don’t know what to do with most of them! One of my biggest obsessions is Washi Tape. You know that really really cute paper tape that can be used on so many craft items? It comes in every color of the rainbow and pretty patterns so I think I need to have one of each style and color. It seems like I do have a roll of every style and color, I own over 100 rolls of the pretty tape. I am also obsessed with Planners I just love them. On Friday I am headed to a Planner Girl Staycation and didn’t want to take all 100 rolls of Washi Tape because that’s a lot of Washi Tape to haul around. Instead I made this really cute travel Washi Tape case or Washi to go!
I used a few things that you can find at your local craft supply or even in the craft section of a super store. If you just want to make a small sample of you washi tape you can just use the ring and bobbins which costs under $5. If you want to really take it over the top like I did it will and add a lot of bobbins and a case the cost is under $10. Your going to love this Washi To Go travel kit.
You will need:
Embroidery floss bobbins
Embroidery floss case
large hinged ring (you can find this in the needle craft section by the embroidery floss bobbins)
Assorted Washi Tape
So this is pretty simple but time consuming so put on your favorite movie or do some binge watching of your favorite show, grab a cold drink and just start wrapping!
I put between 20-35 inches on each bobbin. I simply wrapped the washi tape around the bobbin. I wrapped the tape around the bobbin a complete wrap covering the front of the bobbin and the back. Since the bobbins are about an inch in width if you wrap it this way it wraps 2″ around the bobbin. You can decide how much you want to wrap around your bobbin but I did the 20-35 inches, because not only do I plan on taking it with me to my Plancation but I plan on having it accessible on my desk to use. I will be able to easily see every style, color and pattern of Washi tape I own.
It’s much easier to see the variety of tape I have and I can always refill the bobbin when the tape runs out!
I can’t wait to use my Washi To Go travel ready tapes this weekend when I go to my Plancation and get to work on my planner skills!
