I have been on a Salted Caramel kick lately so this Slow Cooker Dulce De Leches is right in line with caramel because isn’t that just what Dulce De Leches is?
I looked up what Dulce De Leches is in Wikipedia and it says: Dulce De Leches is a confection prepared by slowly heating sweetened milk to create a substance that derives its taste from the Maillard reaction, changing flavor and color. Literally translated, it means “candy [made] of milk” or “sweet [made] of milk.” So caramel! LOL!
This method of making homemade Dulce De Leches is probably the easiest. The hardest part is to make sure the water in the slow cooker stays above the top of the cans. If it gets too low it could wreck havoc with your Dulce De Leches. Even though this is a low key recipe you still have to keep an eye on it!
You will want to remove the labels before starting the cooking process. Place the cans in your slow cooker and add water until the cans are completely submerged.

Cook on low for 8 hours and then let the cans cool completely before opening.
This is so versatile you can use it as a dip, ice cream topping or in a recipe!! What would you do with delicious Dulce De Leches?
