This past September I had the amazing opportunity to go to Disneyland and to attend my very first Oogie Boogie Bash! Let me tell you it was so much fun and soooooo much candy! That’s right candy! The Oogie Boogie Bash is all about Disney villains, Halloween costumes and trick or treating! All these equal CANDY! I think I came home with 10 pounds of candy! As an homage to my fun trip I made these adorable Oogie Boogie Treat bags! And of course they can be filled with candy!
You all know I love cute, easy and fast projects because who with working full time I dont have a lot of time but I love cute easy projects! I also have a fun new toy in my craft room! And it is perfect for all those tiny tiny projects!
Here is what you will need to make these Oogie Boogie Treat Bags:
- Cricut EasyPress Mini Press
- Burlap treat bags
- Cricut everyday vinyl in black and gold
- Scissors
- Cricut Electronic Cutting Machine (I used my Maker)
- Weeding tool
- Ribbon
- Cricut cutting mat (I used standard grip)
- EasyPress Mat
This project is so so easy and you just make as many as you need! If your throwing a huge party just make more! I love using design space and the Oogie Boogie file for this project is found in design space!
Open the Oogie Boogie File in design space and size them to two inches. Duplicate the design until you have as many as you need.
Load your heat transfer vinyl on your Cricut Mat and make sure to put it SHINY side down. I cant tell you how much vinyl I have ruined because I put the vinyl down the wrong way!
Once the design is cut out weed out the excess vinyl.
Now lets talk about the NEW Cricut Mini EasyPress let me tell you it is oh so cute! And I love the size for these tiny projects.
Cricut Mini EasyPress Features
- Compact size ideal for unusually small or unique heat transfer projects
- Customize unusual projects like hats, shoes, or stuffed animals
- Ceramic-coated heat plate for dry, even, edge-to-edge heat
- 3 heat settings for every iron-on and Infusible Ink™ project
- Insulated Safety Base and auto-shutoff feature
- Lightweight, portable, easy to store
- Effortlessly glides over uneven surfaces
- A perfect complement to Cricut® smart cutting machines
I love that it has 3 heat setting because let me tell you there are a lot of heat settings for all the different materials we use!
Ok lets finish up this project. With the Cricut EasyPress Mini set on the medium heat settings you want to preheat the burlap bags for about 5 seconds. Place your first transfer down on the burlap with the SHINY side UP for this one! For this project it will be the circle or the moon background of the design. Lightly hold down the Cricut EasyPress Mini over your design for 10 seconds then carefully peel off the transfer sheet.
Place the second design on top of the first design and make sure the whole design is covered by a transfer sheet. I used the sheet I peeled off the first piece of vinyl. Your going to place the Cricut EasyPress Mini over the complete design, now it will take 30 seconds to get the design adhered to the burlap sack!
Again gently peel the transfer sheet from the bag. Let cool. I added a cut bow to mine to finish it off! I just used a hot glue gun to attach the bow to the bag!
Fill these with your favorite candy and your all set! I just love how these turned out! What is on your agenda today?
