Some of you know we are a military family. Mr.Pinkcakeplate has retired from the US Air Force and is still working as a civil servant for the US Air Force. He spent 21+ years serving our country. That is a very long time. I am so grateful for his service. As we know freedom does not come free. For a special treat I have one way to say thank you.
I know I mostly post a lot of recipes on my site but today I want to take a little detour. Mr. Pinkcakeplate has a favorite restaurant that he loves. We reserve this restaurant for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and the like, I mean really special occasions!. I wanted to say thank you to my sweet husband with a surprise dinner at his favorite seafood restaurant. Red Lobster. The timing could not be more perfect because it is Lobsterfest!
Lobsterfest, the ultimate celebration of everything lobster, is back at Red Lobster for a limited time! That’s right a menu dedicated to the cute little red shellfish! What a way to celebrate!
I was so excited to be able to surprise my hubby with such a wonderful meal. We were joined by a young Airman and his wife unfortunately they were too shy to have me take a photo! In a way this was extra special to be able to share a meal with an active duty Airman and my retired USAF hubby! One way I decided to make this really special was to start our meal with a delicious appetizer and then end with a decadent dessert. We rarely order either of these. The appetizer was one of the delicious Lobsterfest appetizers.
Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms
These fresh mushrooms were stuffed to the brim with Red Lobsters’ signature seafood stuffing, then smothered in Monterey Jack cheese and baked until bubbly brown. We loved them. I only had one because I wanted to save lots of room for my dinner. I ordered the Lobsterfest Surf and Turf who doesn’t love a delicious steak paired with a lobster tail stuffed with that signature seafood stuffing?

That Maine lobster tail with the savory seafood stuffing was a perfect compliment to the wood-grilled sirloin which was topped with shrimp in a lobster cream sauce. It’s served with mashed potatoes and roasted green beans and mushrooms. It was all so good.
Hubby decided on the Lobster Lover’s Dream was the perfect meal for him.

So how about a succulent rock lobster tail roasted until tender, pair it with a steamed sweet split Maine lobster tail to the perfect texture, and serve both with creamy lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo. I had to have some of the creamy lobster-and-shrimp linguini Alfredo. I could have eaten all the pasta, I love pasta and the addition of the shrimp and lobster was amazing.
Now I am sure you are thinking no way would they even have room for dessert but we just had to order the Bananas Foster Cheesecake.

There are two slices of caramel cheesecake with fresh bananas and crunchy candied pecans. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with a spiced-rum caramel sauce and topped with more of those candied pecans.
It was a good thing we shared the dessert with everyone!
We had such a great evening and it truly was a special occasion to be able to share a meal with an active duty Airman and his wife and my dear hubby. We all had such a nice evening we chatted and talked until about 10pm which is late for us old folks. Our wait staff at the Goodyear Red Lobster were so nice. They kept our drinks filled and our table clear!
