How would you like to have your Birthday in December? No Thank You! I would hate that! But then again you really don’t have any say when your birthday is. My favorite SIL has her birthday in December! This year it was the big FOUR-OH! Ya I know! I hated my 40th birthday! I really wanted to do something special for her so we threw her a Merry & Bright Birthday Party!
I was in charge of the food and the decor! Two of my favorite things to do for parties! Now I am no way a professional party planner so my shin dig does not compare to what is out there in blog land! So be gentle!
I had this huge container of these beautiful bright Christmas ornaments that inspired my color choice. I just love how the whole party turned out! I was able to “borrow” beautiful white cake plates from two of my favorite blogging friends. I wanted the only color to be from the decor and not the plates the food was placed on! I had a vision in my mind for the center piece and with the help of glue dots, christmas ornaments and those beautiful white cake plates I created the tiered center piece. I found the fun pink marquee letter L for the top of the center piece! My SIL’s name starts with L and so I had to have this for the top! I think it looks great!
I just wanted finger foods so I wouldn’t have to worry about silver ware!! I know what a cheapskate!! LOL! All the sweets were from my candy series and you can find the recipes for them in the recipe files here on the blog. The big hit of the party was the SeaPak Jumbo Coconut Shrimp and Shrimp Spring Rolls! They are so delicious and so easy to prepare! Just place on baking sheet and pop them in the oven!
It doesn’t get any easier than that!
I had some adorable printables made that fit the theme perfectly! My dear friend Keisha (who is a party goddess!) from Cupcake Wishes & Birthday Dreams designed them for me!
I even made a cute backdrop with the banner!
As I said I am not a professional party planner but I will say my SIL loved her party! We all had a great time! And to say the least the food was fantastic!
I highly recommend SeaPak Shrimp for your next party! I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like shrimp!
