I have always been a HUGE fan of Kevin James so I was ecstatic to find out he has a new TV show. Kevin Can Wait, and I have to tell you I love this new show! Today I am going to share with you why I love it and my most favorite TV Snack! This popcorn is my favorite salty sweet treat! I like to call it Confetti Popcorn because it is so festive and fun just like confetti!
But before the recipe lets chat about Kevin Can Wait. I think the reason we like it so much is we can totally relate to the characters in the show, me being the Kevin James character. I am the one that is at home and yes we have adult children but they live far far away. Here is a brief synopsis of the show.
“Kevin Gable (Kevin James) is a Long Island cop who retires at 45, looking forward to day-drinking with his buddies, going to Mets games, and finally having some “me-time.” He quickly learns, however, that his family’s needs don’t leave a lot of “me-time” after all. His school age kids are having issues at school, and oldest daughter comes home from college with a few surprises of her own. To supplement his pension, Kevin’s wife Donna, a school nurse, wants to rent out their converted garage apartment which turns into quite a complicated competition for occupancy. Whether it’s at Kevin’s retirement party or just making plans with his fellow retiree buddies, Kevin realizes that life at home will not be as carefree as he had hoped. But with the companionship of good friends and the love of his family, Kevin will make the most out of the next chapter of his life.”
I have to say we have not missed an episode and I laugh my way through the full 30 minute show! Well when I am not eating my Confetti Popcorn, LOL! This new #1 New Comedy moves its time period to Mondays at 8/7c on CBS! Which is good for me because Monday night TV is pretty bleak! If you have missed an episode you can have a binge night of Kevin Can Wait at CBS.com
Now lets chat about this Confetti Popcorn. You can have this whipped up in less than 10 minutes plus cooling time. I like to use 94% fat free microwave popcorn just because its not so greasy as the other choices. Candy melts can be found at most craft stores and even big box stores. I added the mini candy coated candies because they are pretty yummy. You can use any color candy melts to suit your occasions and replace the candies with sprinkles. The really fun thing about this popcorn is you can mix it up for just about anything you like!
