I have been crazy busy this last couple of weeks and let me tell you it has been stressful. So stressful I accidentally tripped, fell and hurt my foot. My head was moving faster than my body and well the inevitable happened. Foot is hurt, tons of deadlines and in so much pain I can hardly walk. Yup that sums it up. The last thing I wanted to do was go grocery shopping. So I sent Mr. Pinkcakeplate. I gave him a list of what to buy, he looked at it and said to me “we get to have Marie Callender’s Pot Pies for dinner?” in the most excited voice. I love when I have an easy dinner idea!
I said of course we can have Marie Callender’s Pot Pies for dinner. Just head to Walmart and pick out your favorite flavors. He was so happy. I never knew serving Marie Callender’s Pot Pies for dinner could make someone so happy! Now I love Marie Callender’s Pot Pies and there is a new flavor I have been dying to try.
When the Mr. got home I was then excited because he actually followed the list and got the Marie Callender’s Pot Pie I was dying to try! Marie Callender’s has a Chili Pot Pie oh yes she does and I am so ready to try it! I fired up the oven and popped the Marie Callender Chili Pot Pie in the oven. While they were baking I whipped up some of my favorite salsa!
I love that Marie Callender’s Pot Pies golden flaky crust is made from scratch and it in my opinion is the best part. I always cover the edges with foil so they turn out just right! I pulled the golden brown pies out of the oven and topped them with some grated cheese and sliced scallions. I cannot tell you how delicious the Marie Callender Chili Pot Pie is I loved it! The crust as I said before is my favorite part but the chili inside was so good it was seasoned well and had just the right amount of heat! It will definitely be on our dinner menu again. I set out more cheese, salsa, scallions and sour cream so we could all add to our Marie Callender Chili Pot Pie. I looked at it like a chili bar! It was a hit all the way around.
Not only did the Mr. buy the Chili Pot Pie, he bought the Beef Pot Pie, the Chicken Pot Pie and the Mushroom Chicken Pot Pie. My freezer is now stocked with delicious easy to prepare entrees that I know my family will love.
