Today’s guest is T.J. From Sugar Blossoms and Sugar and Spice Digital Designs she is such a sweetheart!! We have met at several local Blog mixers!!! I am so excited to have her here today!!!
“I always thought I’d have a daughter; a little “mini me” to dress up and play beauty shop with. She would have long, brown hair like mine {which she would LOVE to have fixed in amazing ways with flowers and bows and headbands!!} and love ballet. That’s what I think of when I see an adorable pink tutu or I make another pink headband for a niece. My kids won’t get near that stuff. My youngest won’t even glance at the Barbie aisle in the store!
I have 3 children: all boys.
I grew up in song and dance classes, put on “shows” for my family, dressed up my littlest sister and did photo shoots with her in the backyard, painted all 4 sisters nails, cut my mom’s hair, and had a serious obsession with anything purple. Years later it never occurred to me that when I headed to the hospital to give birth to my youngest son that he would be my last child.
I didn’t have difficult pregnancies. The previous two deliveries weren’t that horrible. It wasn’t supposed to happen the way it did. When my little boy came into the world, I started to leave it. I don’t remember much about it. I know my mom was holding my hand for an hour before I knew who she was. I know I was freezing. I know the blood they were prepping for my transfusion was also frozen and I would have to wait for it to thaw. I remember a lot of tubes running in and out of me.
Thanks to an outstanding doctor and the blessing of modern medicine, I got to come home with my son and introduce him to his big brothers. But I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I was done having children. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank my Heavenly Father for this beautiful life He’s letting me live. My boys are amazing. Every one of them is blonde with light eyes, just like their dad. I still have times when people ask me, “Aren’t you going to try for a girl?!”
“I tell them we only have “one recipe”. . . and I think it’s pretty sweet.”
