So how many times have you grabbed a pint of ice cream out of your freezer and only ate half of the carton? Don’t lie we have all done it. Ate the whole pint in one sitting. Well today I have the cutest way to eat that pint of ice cream. And I’m going to show you how to make your very own cute Ice Cream Cozy! I used my Cricut Maker which I absolutely love.
Supplies:
- Cricut Maker
- Cricut Design Space
- Cricut Fabric Mat
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
- One 12″x 18″ piece of cotton fabric (I used Cricut Fabric and fabric I found at my fabric store)
- One 12″x 18″ piece of flannel fabric (found at my fabric store)
- 8” inch of 3/4 inch hook and loop closure, without adhesive (Velcro)
- 12″x 18″ Iron on interfacing
These supplies will make 2 Ice Cream Cozies
Preshrink your cotton and flannel fabric by washing, drying and ironing before beginning. For fabric care always follow manufacturers’ instructions.
NOTE: All seams are 1/4” unless otherwise stated.
STEP 1: Cut out your fabric (flannel lining and outer fabric) using the pattern created in Cricut Design Space.
STEP 2: Place the two pieces of fabric right sides together. Pin around the fabric.
STEP 3: Start on the right end and sew around the sleeve, leaving a 1 1/2” opening between the two corners. Clip the four corners.
STEP 4: Turn right side out and press. Pin the opening closed and sew a 1/8” top stitch around the entire sleeve.
STEP 5: Sew the hook closure vertically on the left inside end of the cozy, as close to the edge as you can. Repeat and sew loop closure on right outside of cozy.
Wrap around your pint of ice cream and enjoy! Oh wait wrap it up to give to friends and family for Holiday Gifts!
I ended up making 4 of these cute cozies! And I had to make some that were not so girly!
I think this camo one is my fave!
