I love to read especially when I have a really good book to read. I have to say I was so excited when I was asked to head up a Girls Book Club meeting to discuss the book The Choice by Nicolas Sparks. We all know Nicolas Sparks is the ultimate tear jerker, heart warmer, chick book author! I jumped at the chance to have a some girl time to discuss The Choice.
As I stated I love to read but at times find it really hard to find the time to read a good book. The thought of a book club meeting had me carve out the time to read The Choice so I could actually head up the book club meeting with my besties. This book was easy to read and as usual is one the really tugs on your heart strings. With the movie opening at the end of the week I had to act fast to get my girls together and discuss the book. Now I don’t want to give too much away but we really had a lot to discuss. There were so many fun and compelling aspects to this book!
I love that the two main characters personalities were so carefully crafted with just enough tension between the two of them they were naturally drawn together! I have to say I love that Travis was a Veterinarian that totally got to this dog mamas heart for sure! We discussed how we thought these two were just enough opposites to make a great couple. We all know Nicolas Sparks can tell a beautiful story.
Some of the really hard things to discuss about the book were actually what the title of the book is. The Choice. I have to say it is something Mr. Pinkcakeplate and I have discussed many times. We even joke about it when we chat about it, it is really something every couple should discuss. The girls and I really feel that a living will and directive is something everyone should take the time to put together!
Needless to say we had a great morning just chatting about the book and how we were all so excited to see the movie. I am really looking forward to see how closely they stayed to the book. Here,s a little sneak peek!
Are you excited about seeing The Choice? I am! It will be in theaters on February 5th!
