We finally finished building our new home, I am still working full time but this time around I am working nights! Yes working nights! With this schedule it doesn’t give me many opportunities to whip up a new recipe. I was delighted when Shamrock Farms reached out to me for a new recipe. Now I love working with the good folks at Shamrock Farms so I could not say no to them! That is how this delicious Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake was born.
I know your wondering how can this be? Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake? Let me tell you how amazing this bake is. With layers of chicken and ham in a delicious sauce, a creamy layer of Shamrock Farms Cottage cheese mixed with Parmesan cheese and topped with more cheese. This casserole is a must make. Not to mention it is so easy to make. Here are a few things you will need for this recipe. I love my glass baking dish it makes for such a pretty presentation.
I love Cottage Cheese as a girl growing up my mother would make these little appetizers with cottage cheese, a poppy seed cracker and seasoned salt. We thought they were so fancy! In reality they were tasty but now that I look back nothing fancy about them at all! My mother taught me how to cook and be versatile with my recipes and that laid a great foundation for using cottage cheese in recipes.

One tip when making this layered Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake is to use oven ready pasta. I used to hate making layered pasta dishes because you have to cook the pasta and let it cool before you could make you dish. Oven ready pasta take that step out of the picture, which makes your life so much easier.
Chicken Cordon Blue Pasta Bake
Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Bake
Ingredients
- 1 Pkg oven ready pasta noodles
- 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 oz cottage cheese or ricotta
- 1 egg
- 1 TBSP fresh chopped parsley
- 2 tsp onion powder
- White Sauce:
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 TBSP butter
- 2 TBSP flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- White sauce: Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour. Once thickened immediately begin to add broth, a little at a time, whisking in between. Add in spices and milk, whisking to combine. Bring to a boil,allow to cool slightly then add the additional 1/2 cup water. Use in recipe as detailed below.
- Combine cottage cheese, egg, parsley, onion powder and pepper. Stir to combine, set aside.
- Spray a 9×13 casserole dish. Spread 1/2 the chicken on bottom, followed by 1/2 the ham and about 1/3 of the white sauce. Layer 4 pasta noodles on top. Spread 1/2 the cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Top with 1/2 of shredded Swiss cheese.
- Repeat the process- layer the rest of the chicken, ham and another 1/3 of the white sauce. Top with more noodles. Spread the rest of the cottage cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with remaining swiss cheese.
- Pour remaining white sauce on top, then finally, sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the entire lasagna.
- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes prior to serving.
