As most of you know we moved and I am working on putting my craft room back together. One thing that I really loved and almost left behind was a small wooden chair I had picked up at a yard sale for a few dollars. This little chair was creaky and broken but I loved it!! Yes I loved it so much I decided to give it a new life with some wood glue and a new coat of paint using Vintage Decor Paint from Martha Stewart Crafts®.
I chose the color River Rock from the Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint Line. Vintage Decor Paint comes in a Matte Chalk Finish, requires no prep, is self priming, and comes in 22 charming complimentary colors. I loved that the paint is self priming which meant I did no prep other than wipe the chair down with a damp cloth before I started painting!! I gave my chair 2 good coats of paint! Here is the chair with the first coat of paint!
Then the fun really started! I chose a pretty stencil to use to give my chair a little more flair!! And I chose the color Linen to compliment the River Rock! I used the ergonomically designed Martha Stewart Crafts® Vintage Decor Paint Brush with the stencil. Super easy!
I cut the stencils apart and used some washi tape to secure it where I wanted the flowers to go!
My little chair got 4 pretty flowers!
I sanded and distressed it just a bit!! I didn’t want it to look to “beat up”.
My little chair got a coat of Martha Stewart Crafts® Vintage Decor Wax and then I uses a soft cloth to give it a nice shine!! So so pretty!!
But take look at this side by side before and after!!
That is quite a transformation isn’t it??
