Today I have a super easy tutorial and one I am sure that has been done a dozen times or more. With Easter on it’s way its time to TINT Coconut!! And next week I will be using green coconut in another project with my sweet grand daughter!! So today I have a super simple tutorial on how to TINT Coconut!!
This is soooooo easy to make here is what you will need:
Flaked coconut, food dye/coloring and a clean jar. I used gel food coloring but the kind you buy in the grocery store works just fine too. I also like making mine in a jar but you could do this same thing in a heavy duty zipper lock plastic bag.
Place the coconut in the jar.
Add a few drops of the food coloring.
Then place the lid on the jar and gently shake the jar.
Shake until the desired color is achieved. There may be some dark pieces you can either just take the out or using a fork distribute the dye evenly.
And that is how easy it is to tint coconut!! You can color it just about any color you want!
I like to store the coconut in the same jar I used to color it just less dish to wash!! So now you are ready to make those adorable Easter treats that need edible grass!!
