Easter Celebration He Lives

Holidays are fun and beautiful and stressful. Families gather, mothers cook, children are fascinated by the wonder and magic that all holidays bring. From Christmas, to 4th of July to the upcoming Easter holiday, families celebrate in many ways. This simple Brunch my good friend Liz from Liz on Call and I put together with the help of BettiJo from Paging Super Mom we hope, will give you a few ideas that will help you create new memories and celebrate old. #Hallelujah

This post started out being something else but it has taken its own course. I don’t usually talk about my beliefs but for today I am going to share just a tiny bit of myself with you through this Easter Celebration. This started out as a beautiful and fun brunch for kids, it started out as Easter candy and eggs, it started out as a fun way to celebrate Easter with your kiddos. And it will still be all those things but I want to share with you more than just chocolate and pastries.

I have a very good friend who is also a blogger and she has these amazing Empty Tomb Rolls on her blog. I often kidded with her that I was going to copy her! Well today I am and I share this with her permission. I included these Empty Tomb Rolls in this Easter Celebration because it encompasses everything that Easter is all about.

You can share with your children the Easter Story found in the New Testament there are four accounts of the Crucifixion and resurrection of The Savior Jesus Christ. Matthew 27-28, Mark 15-16, Luke 23-24 or John 19-20. Four of The Saviors Apostles told the Easter Story.

The symbolism of this treat is pretty simple:

• The marshmallow represents The Savior
• Butter and Cinnamon represent the linen The Savior was wrapped in for burial.
• The pastry represents the tomb The Savior was placed in.
• The empty pastry represents the empty tomb, on 3rd day Jesus had risen and no was longer in tomb.

So beautiful and so simple. Such a great way to teach your children about The Savior and his resurrection! So I love the whole message of He Lives. This banner is just perfect for this celebration.  You can download the printable for the banner HERE.

Liz and I worked together to create this fun Easter Brunch. I don’t do many party posts but this week it seems like I am.

Empty Tomb Rolls

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  

• 1 10 ounce package jumbo refrigerated crescent rolls
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
• 8 large marshmallows
• 1/4 cup butter melted

Method

 

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare muffin pan, spray very well with non-stick cooking stray.
2. Separate rolls into eight triangles and set aside. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
3. Dip each marshmallow into butter, then roll in cinnamon-sugar and place on a triangle dough. Pinch dough around marshmallow, sealing all edges. Make sure to seal well or the marshmallow will ooze out.
4. Place each roll in well of muffin pan. Sprinkle tops of rolls with extra cinnamon and sugar.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 13 - 15 minutes.
