I was honored when Laura asked me to contribute a post for her 31 Days of Pink! I immediately accepted, but then got a little worried…. I’m a Mom of boys, and I’ve never been
I searched my closet. My kitchen. My car. No pink. Then I remembered the pink item that I have been holding onto for a long time, and I think it’s a perfect fit. Well, it doesn’t actually fit me anymore, but I thought it was a perfect fit for 31 Days of Pink.
My favorite (and possibly only) pink item is my first “real” sports bra.
As a… ummm… larger chested woman, it’s not easy to find sports bras that are comfortable or effective. Some of the things that are on the market are like little torture devices! But one day I happened upon my pink sports bra. Somehow, I can run in it and not feel squeezed. It’s not too loose or too tight, it’s soft and it has adjustable shoulder straps!
Strange that I fell in love with my sports bra? No, especially if you ask other endowed women. It’s a serious situation.
That pink bra made it possible for me to begin running and complete several 5k races with awesome times. I powered through high impact kickboxing classes without holding back because I was uncomfortable. I even joined a women’s soccer team. It gave me the confidence that I needed to do the things I wanted.
In the past few years, I have learned what it means to be healthy. I eat right, exercise, and make sure to go to the doctor regularly. This pink sports bra stays in my dresser because it’s a reminder of the courage and confidence I gained when I realized that I could do whatever I set my mind to. I’m healthy, I’m confident, and I’m determined to make the most of this life that I have.
I have not met Becca in person yet but I can’t wait to meet her !! Hopefully soon!!! I am so grateful to know her via Blogland!!! I am thankful to her for her wonderful contribution!!!
You have NOT met Becca yet? OMG. You absolutely have to go to her blog. Have you ever heard the song by Katy Perry? FIRECRACKER? That is my ring tone for her….YUPPIE, you will love her. And OUR CRAZY BOYS. (They are mine too. I am the very proud Gramma Teetsie.)

I love that your passion is Breast Cancer. Like Becca I have LARGE boobies. Unlike her, mine so where south is at all times. Like Becca I have all boys, so also like her, pink is not seen much ova here. Great blog.
