“31 Days of Pink”- Day 3 Ellie of Vanilla Bean Girls

 

Hi there Pink Cake Plate Readers!

I’m Ellie from Vanilla Bean Girls.  Me and my two little girls write a blog about our DIY projects, rehabbing our house, and all of the baking and cake decorating we do.  I’m so very excited to be back with you again this year!

Last year I wrote about a friend of mine that had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She had just undergone a partial mastectomy and reconstruction.  After her surgery, she had to go through chemo, which thankfully was just an oral pill that she had to take rather than going to a clinic to sit all day hooked up to an IV.  It made her feel horrible, nonetheless.

 

And here we are, a year later – another 31 days of pink October, and I can’t even tell you how amazing she’s doing!  So amazing that she’s even back in the classroom (her true love) and teaching first grade again!  She even gets to be my little girls teacher this year, making me even more grateful that she’s doing well!  Her life was in such turmoil for so long, but I’m happy to report that all is going great and she and her awesome hubby also just renewed their wedding vows!

Hope lives on!
