Todays PINK photo is by sweet Ellie from www.vanillabeangirls.com. If you remember Ellie won the give away from Jen at Tatertotsandjello.com here is the post announcing the winner.
I contacted Ellie and she jumped right on the bandwagon!! What a doll!!
Here is her contribution!
One of my closest friends these days is an adoptive mother that I worked with in the past. I was there to walk her, her husband, and three girls through the adoption journey from start to finish with their youngest, fourth daughter who they adopted a couple years ago. A very blessed experience for both me and them.
Earlier this year, she called to let me know that she needed to have a partial mastectomy and reconstruction.
My heart sank for her.
It sank for her husband.
It mostly sank for all her young girls, especially her youngest whom they had just adopted.
God forbid something happen during surgery, her young toddler would never have a memory of her or of how much she was loved by her incredible mother.
Thankfully, all of our prayers were answered when she came through surgery with flying colors. I am so grateful for her and that she is now a survivor, living an active and healthy life with her husband and all their girls.
I love this picture of a little girls tutu. It reminds me of all her girls and the innocence of them taking their dance and gymnastic classes. The little girl innocence that does not know of surgeries, of cancer, or of having to become a “survivor.” If only we could all retain that innocence.
Thank you Ellie for your tender words. I love the tutu and what it means to you!! I will never be able to look at a PINK tutu the same again!! Our love an prayers go out to you and your friend!!
