A couple of years ago I did my own taste test with some friends at work to see if they could tell the difference between store bought Avalanche Bark or the Avalanche Bark I made at home! When I made it then I wanted to tweak the recipe just a bit so here is my revised recipe for Spring Avalanche Bark!!
This peanut buttery sweet confection is hard to resist! It is packed with marshmallows, chocolate chips and candy coated chocolate pieces! It is a creamy and sweet treat that you can make in about 30minutes! It will be a great addition to that Easter Basket!!
Yes I am a total procrastinator so this works well for me!! I have a yummy treat that whips up in little time!! But seriously who wouldn’t want some of this?
I cant even tell you how much I love this stuff and it gets the Mr. Pinkcakeplate seal of approval!! Anything with peanut butter and chocolate in it is a win win!!
Spring Avalanche Bark!

- 4 cups Crispy Rice cereal
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 Cup spring candy coated chocolate pieces plus more for garnish

- In microwave-safe bowl pour in white candy melts and heat on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and continue in 30 second increments until chips are melted.
- Combine the peanut butter with the melted chips and add the Crispy Rice cereal.
- Let cool approx 5 – 10 minutes stirring every 5 minutes or so to help cool.
- Add the marshmallows stir to combine. Add candy coated chocolate pieces, and mini choc chips and stir gently until well blended. Pour mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly, pressing lightly with the back of your spoon, but do not compact too much, otherwise it will get hard.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate bark, sprinkle the remaining candy coated chocolate pieces into the top for garnish.
- When the bars are completely cooled cut into squares and enjoy!
