I have to tell you how excited I am to share this recipe with you!! I have combined an old marinade recipe I learned way back in my college days with a new way of grilling!! Well its new for me!!! I also learned a new way of preparing Tyson Cornish Game Hens commonly called “spatchcocking“. Preparing the Tyson Cornish Game Hens this way makes for a quicker and easier cooking time!! So how about College Day Marinated Grilled Cornish Game Hens!
This recipe will totally impress your friends and family!! I headed out to my favorite WalMart to purchase these little Tyson Cornish Game Hens!! You can get a $2.00 coupon if you purchase both Tyson Cornish Game Hens AND Kikkoman Soy Sauce!! I found my coupon right on the Tyson Cornish Game Hen package!
You can find them on The Kikkoman Sauces also!! Unfortunaley my WalMart did not have any available the day I was shopping!
So after marinading my spatchcocked hens for 24 hours I sprinkled them with olive oil, salt and pepper. I headed out to my grill!
Here is where it got fun!! After heating my grill and cleaning it. It was time to put those Tyson Cornish Game Hens on the grill. I have often heard about using a brick to help flatten poultry when grilling but I didnt have a brick so I used a cast iron skillet!! How is that for making due??? LOL!!
I placed a layer of tin foil between the cast iron skillet and the poultry!!
These babies were grilled on each side for about 18-20 minuets.
I also grilled some yummy green onions and corn to go with my College Day Marinade Cornish Game Hens!!! YUMMMM!!
