So I accepted the challenge to create a new recipe using Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sausage!! I have to tell you I love sausage!! Smoked sausage, breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, the list goes on!! So why not accept this challenge!! Another factor is our family is trying to eat healthier and stay low carb so I stepped up to the plate and came up with a pretty good recipe!!
I headed to our local Walmart in search of Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sausage to see my shopping adventure go here.
We celebrated 3 Birthdays this week so tonight we had our Birthday dinner. I came up with Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms!! Yummm!!
Hillshire Farm #GourmetCreations Stuffed Portobella Mushrooms
Makes 3 Servings
1/4 finley chopped onion
1/2 C. chopped mushrooms
1 T. Minced garlic
1 T. Olive Oil
3 Hillshire Farm Gourmet Creations Sausage Beef and Bacon flavor roughly chopped
1/2 C grated cheddar cheese
1/2 C grated Monteray Jack Cheese
1/4 C grated parmesean cheese
3 green onions sliced
6 3″ diameters Portobello Mushroom caps cleaned
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and spray a medium sized baking pan with non stick cooking spray.
Saute onions, garlic and mushrooms in olive oil until onions a translucent and mushrooms are soft, salt and pepper to taste. Add chopped sausage and cook until heated through. Arrange mushroom caps in baking dish. Place large scoop of onion/sausage mixture in each mushroom cap, sprinkle with 1/2 of Parmesan cheese then sprinkle with cheddar and jack cheese and last of parmesean cheese on top.
Bake for 30 mins. When out of the oven sprinkle with slice green onions!! Enjoy!!
