Cinnie

Sophie

I was approached by the good folks at Best Pet Health to try a product for my two Girlies!!

I have to say I really love the Best Pet Health web site!!  It is user friendly and the design is simple, clean and easy to navigate.  You need to stop by and look around!!

The product for the girlies was the Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil for Dogs from Nutri-Vet they both love this stuff!!

Sophie is now 10 years old and has has skin issues for the last few years! After using the Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil her skin issues have stopped and her coat is shiny and luxurious!!  Not to mention she loves the oil and give me dirty looks if her food does not have the oil added!!

Cinnie is 6 years old and a very finicky eater. She turns her nose up at just about everything!!  The first morning I put the Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil on her food she inhaled her food!!  I couldn’t believe it!!  She absolutely loves this stuff!!  She too has a shiny and soft coat!!

I just use one pump from the convenient pump dispenser on their food each morning!!

Here is the info from the web site about the Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil:

Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil provides levels of omega-3 and -6 fatty acids not commonly found in pet foods. It is a great multi-purpose supplement rich in EPA and DHA that help maximize skin and coat health, promote a strong immune system and support joint function. It contains only pure oil from wild, non-farmed Alaskan salmon stabilized with rosemary, a natural antioxidant that promotes freshness, purity and taste. It does NOT contain PCB contaminants, mercury or other heavy metals.

Ingredients:

Guaranteed Analysis per Teaspoon (2 pumps):
Crude Fat – 99%
Moisture (max) – 0.5%
Omega-3 Fatty Acids – 1456 mg
DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) – 546 mg
EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) – 546 mg
Omega-6 Fatty Acids – 136 mg

Inactive ingredients:
Salmon Oil, Rosemary Extract

Key Components:

  • Omega-3 fatty acids such as DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) help reduce inflammatory skin reactions in dogs. These two important fatty acids are found in high levels in fish oil. Only omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil have been shown to reduce inflammation.
Omega-6 fatty acids, including linioleic acid, help maintain the epidermal water barrier function of the skin. This may explain why instances of dry, dull hair coat and scaling, non-pruritic skin disorders in dogs generally respond to the addition of vegetable oils to the diet.

Best Use:

For dry skin and lusterless coat, immune support and joint health.

Here are a few reviews I found on the internet:

Pros: Easy To Administer; Effective; Good Value; Gentle
I add approximately one teaspoon from the convenient pump-dispenser bottle to her regular diet once a day. Although she was suspicious and slow to eat it the very first time, by the second day she came to love the flavor. After 2 weeks I notice a difference in her coat already! It is shinier and her skin is not as dry.

I have 3 dogs and my little pom was always itching. Never had this issue with any dogs in my life. I tried the best food and just about everything. Then I picked this up at a pet store. My dogs love it. Every morning I put it on a treat. They bug me all morning until they get it. What a difference in all of their coats. Even their groomer has commented. My pom hasn’t itched since – which leads me to believe it was never the food like everyone kept telling me. Can’t beat the product or price! Highly recommend to any dog with dry, itchy skin. Worked for mine!

I especially like the new packaging with the pump. No mess!!! My jack russel who has had bad allergies loves it as does my Heinz 57 rescue dog. Their coats are so soft and shiny and they seem to like their dry kibble alot better.

PinkCakePlate: My girl Ella Fitzgerald won’t eat until her brother Miles Davis is finished with his food. Then he moves in and starts eating hers too! Maybe this ‘secret sauce’ would break Ella’s habits and keep Miles from turning into a big ole tub too. ‘becca
