This time of year is one of my favorite times to bake and try new recipes!! I love having friends over to taste the new goodies I bake!! So today is no different!! I found a yummy new cookie to bake and I am having a few friends over for Hot Cocoa and Cookies!! I need taste testers!!
So here is the recipe:
Cream Cheese Cake Mix Cookies
1 bx Duncan Hines cake mix, any flavor
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 c butter, room temperature
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla (optional, depending on flavor)
1 c any add-ins (flavored chips, candy, nuts, etc)
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add egg and vanilla and mix until well blended (I used a mixer for this part only).
3. Stir in cake mix a little at a time until it’s all blended and then add any chips, candy or nuts, as you like
4. Bake for 10 minutes, until edges are brown.
I used a Duncan Hines Devils Food cake and mixed in 1 c. Plain M&M’s!! They are yummy and soft and chewy!! I used a tablespoon cookie scoop and it made about 4 dozen cookies!!!
This was an easy recipe and they are so tasty!! The combination flavors are unlimited!! I think the next batch I make I will add nuts!! I love chocolate and nuts!! How about a spice cake and white chocolate chips!! or yellow with chocolate chips!!! Oh man this could be fun!!!
If you make these cookies stop by and leave a comment telling me what YOUR flavor combination was!!
I hope my guests enjoy these cookies as much as I do!!
