Hi there! I’m Liz and I blog over at Liz on Call. At Liz on Call I like to share fun crafts, printables, recipes and more. With a husband and 3 kids to chase after, I am always on call! I ‘m happy to be taking over today here at Pink Cake Plate. Laura is one of the first bloggers I ever met when I first started blogging and has been such a support to me. I just think she is the best! So I’m excited she let me share a fun craft with all of you.
One of my favorite things to do is decorate my door for the seasons. A few months ago I made a plain burlap wreath and I like to try and jazz it up for each season. I wanted to create something bright and fun for my summer wreath. Here is how I put my wreath together.
The first thing I did was create the mini summer banner. You can download a copy of the mini summer banner and see how I used it in our welcome summer party. Once I printed it onto card stock and cut it out, I used bakers twine to string it across my burlap wreath. Now if you don’t have a burlap wreath, no worries. The banner will look cute on any wreath! It looks ok with just the banner alone, but I thought it needed a little something.
So I opened up my cutting program for my silhouette cameo and designed a popsicle that I could cut out of card stock to attach to the wreath.
I picked out some coordinating papers and cut out my popsicle shapes.
I just used a glue stick to glue the popsicles together.
I wasn’t sure how I was going to attach my paper popsicles to my wreath until I found these mini clothes pins in my craft stash.
I just used a glue dot to attach the clothes pin to the backs of the popsicles.
Those clothes pins sure made it easy to attach the popsicles to the burlap!
I like the added element of the popsicles. I think it gives the wreath a little something extra and nothing says summer (especially in AZ) better than popsicles!
Thanks Laura for having me here today. I hope you all can find a little something fun to brighten up your door for summer!
I’d love for you to stop over and say Hi!
Happy Crafting!
